Health Status of Automobile Insurance Company Workers Measured by THI

Abstract
The objective of this study was to examine the health ;tatus of workers in insurance companies whose work is very high in tension. Todai Health lndex(THI) and questionnaire on personal and occupational characteristics were administered to 171 compensation workers and 101 office workers of 3 insurance companies in Seoul. from Pebruary ito March 11995.
The results were as follows
1. The main complaints of the office workers were mouth and anus¡¯. respiratory¡¯, and ¡®depressive¡¯ symptoms in that order, while Compensation workers complained about ¡®mouth and anus¡¯, ?depressive¡¯, and ¡®respiratory¡¯ symptoms. The com
pensation workers showed significantly higher point in the item of emotional instability among the mental complaints than the office worker,
2. The Till scores of trhe physical symptoms were significantly higher in to the smoking, the respondedly healthy, and regular exercise groups than in no smoking, the respondedly unhealthy and the irregular or no exercise groups, respectively.
B. The THI scores of mental symptoms of the married, the shorter working period, and the respondedly healthy groups were significantly higher than the single, the longer working period, and the respondedly unhealthy groups, respectively.
-1. The elder, the shorter working time, the longer working period and the respondely healthy groups showed significantly higher THI scores in irregular life pattern item than the younger, the longer working time, the shorter working period, and the respondedly unhealthy groups, respectively.
